They really are such a great investment and if you are in any doubt about if a flat free wheelbarrow tire, cheap via the link, is worth the investment then you simply have not had an inflatable tire for very long.

Here is a picture of mine in all its glory.

Flat Free Wheelbarrow Wheel

Yes, my wheelbarrow gets used to move concrete mixes on a regular basis, and yes it gets left out in all weathers, and yes it is rusty. But it works and there is no point buying a whole new wheelbarrow just because your pneumatic tire keeps letting you down.

My Wheelbarrow History

We have had the wheelbarrow for 7 years now and it is still going strong. I wish I could have said the same about the inflatable wheels. Our cheap flat free wheelbarrow wheel has been with us for 3 years now and there has not been a single problem with it.

Prior to that I had bought 3 inflatable wheels. To start with I had repaired the flats. That worked for a while but the load simply meant that they kept breaking and needing to be replaced. Or the annoying valve kept getting sunk too deep into the rim and they were impossible to re-inflate.

Replacement tubes or wheels are relatively cheap so I would just go out and buy a new one. But after three I suddenly realized that it was actually all adding up.

But I didn’t even know that there was a flat free option until I stumbled across them when I went to buy yet another tire. I snapped it up as soon as I was told there was this option. Well, after a little think anyway, I hate spending money.

When I saw the prices I kind of hesitated at first. My thinking was that I could have bought a few inflatable ones for that price. But I had already done that and it didn’t work out so well. A total false economy really.

What To Buy

If you keep getting flats then it really is pointless to keep fixing them or replacing them, the cost simply adds up. It makes more sense to buy a wheel for the wheelbarrow that will simply last forever.

There are a number of different options available. You can buy them in the exact size you need or a more general option.

Universal Flat Free Wheelbarrow Tires

This is what I got. It simply makes sense as if you get your measurements wrong you don’t need to return it. Buy a Universal flat free wheelbarrow wheel and it is guaranteed to fit. There are a few brands to choose from but currently the most popular, and the ones with the largest range are below.

Flat Free Wheelbarrow Tire Marathon

Marathon flat free wheelbarrow tires are the most popular, it depends where you buy though as to the brand you can get. If you follow my link you can see a number of Marathon options, and others too. I got mine at a builders merchants and paid a lot more, I didn’t even know such a thing existed until I saw it and I snapped it up straight away (after the Scrooge in me let go!).

But a little more savvy shopping on my part could have allowed me to buy at a cheaper price so I recommend that you take a look.

No more flat tire halfway through moving a wheelbarrow full of compost.

It is definitely the little things in life that make it easier.

More photos to finish, just as I am so pleased with this purchase and I hope you will be too. It makes such a difference to working outside and you know you will never need that pump again that you keep losing, or is that just me?
